How it works

From snip to soil, keep every propagation in view.

  1. 1

    Log a propagation fast

Water, soil, LECA, and more — recorded in seconds. Pick the method, the cutting type and the parent plant.

    • Method
    • Cutting type
    • Parent plant
Add Propagation screen: species, a grid of six methods, cutting type, date started, parent plant and water change interval.
  2. 2

    Keep a photo timeline

Add dated photos to watch your cuttings root and grow, and log rooting check-ins with a root or node note. Water-change reminders run on the interval you set, every 1 to 30 days.

    Learn which methods work

What makes it different

Every feature is built for propagators, by a propagator.

Built around one cutting's lifecycle

Unlike general plant care apps, SnipLog is designed around the propagation lifecycle: Cutting → Rooting → Potting → Established. A cutting that doesn't take is marked Failed, so it still counts in Stats.

  1. Cut Cutting
  2. Root Rooting
  3. Pot Potting
  4. Est. Established

FAQ

Questions from the propagation shelf.

Still stuck? support@renolabshq.com

Water or soil: which propagation method works better?

It depends on the plant. SnipLog's Stats compare success rate by method and by species for your own cuttings (Premium). For plant-by-plant advice, read the water propagation guide and the soil propagation guide, or browse all propagation guides.

How do I track a cutting's root progress?

Add dated photos to the cutting's photo timeline, and log a rooting check-in with a root or node note.

How often should I change propagation water?

SnipLog reminds you on an interval you set, from 1 to 30 days (the default is 3). The in-app tips for water cuttings say "Change water every 3-5 days." More in the water propagation guide.

What propagation methods does SnipLog support?

Water, soil, sphagnum, perlite, LECA and air layering. Cutting types: stem, leaf, node, division, offset and rhizome.

Why won't my cutting root?

Our guide Why is my cutting rotting? covers rot. In SnipLog, cuttings that don't take are marked Failed and show up in Stats, so you can compare methods and see which attempts failed.

Is SnipLog free?

SnipLog is free up to 5 propagations. Premium unlocks unlimited propagations, detailed analytics and CSV export. Pricing is shown in the App Store before you subscribe.
