Privacy Policy

Title

Effective date: June 5, 2026

1. Introduction

Title is a daily book puzzle game developed by Reno Labs, LLC. Each day, players receive six progressive clues and try to guess the book. This Privacy Policy explains what information Title collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Title does not require a user account. We never ask you to provide your email address, phone number, or other personal contact information within the app. The only information you provide directly is the guesses you submit while playing. Sign in with Apple is offered as an optional convenience — see the section below.

Anonymous Device Identifier

The first time you open Title, the app generates a random UUID and stores it in your device's iOS Keychain. This anonymous identifier is used to associate your daily streak, game results, and (if you opt in) notification preferences with your device, so your streak survives reinstalls and so we can show you accurate lifetime stats. The identifier is not linked to your personal identity.

Game Progress

When you complete a daily puzzle, Title sends the outcome (won or lost, number of guesses, elapsed time, and the guesses themselves) to our servers. This data is keyed only to your anonymous identifier and is used to compute your streak, your lifetime stats, your reading style profile (a Pro feature), and aggregate stats showing how today's puzzle is going across all players.

Push Notification Token

If you grant notification permission, Apple's Push Notification service (APNs) issues a push token for your device, which we store on our servers so we can send your daily puzzle reminder. The token is associated only with your anonymous identifier. If you revoke notification permission, the token becomes invalid and the next reminder fails silently.

Sign in with Apple (Optional)

Title offers Sign in with Apple as an optional way to recover your streak on a new device. If you choose to sign in, we receive and store the following on our servers, associated with your anonymous identifier:

Title also requests the Name scope on the initial sign-in. Apple shows you a confirmation screen and lets you edit the name before it is shared. If you grant it, your name is stored only on your device (in iOS UserDefaults) and is used to greet you in Settings. It is never transmitted to our servers and never leaves your device. If you sign in on a different device, Apple does not share your name again — that is by design.

Title does not request your email address.

Subscription Information (RevenueCat)

If you subscribe to Title Pro, our subscription management service (RevenueCat) processes transaction receipts and subscription status to validate purchases and grant access to premium features. RevenueCat associates these purchases with a random identifier on your device, not with your personal identity.

Anonymized Analytics (PostHog)

Title uses PostHog to record a limited set of anonymized product-interaction events — for example, puzzle started, puzzle solved, share exported, paywall viewed, and subscription started — along with standard technical context such as app version, operating-system version, and device model. These events are keyed to your anonymous identifier and are never linked to your real-world identity. We do not use PostHog to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app performs no advertising tracking. PostHog may process your IP address in transit to deliver and coarsely geolocate events; we do not use it to identify you. PostHog also receives crash and error diagnostics when the app hits a handled error, so we can find and fix bugs.

Information from Device Permissions

Title requests the following device permissions:

Title does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, location, or any other sensitive permissions.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat

Title uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and subscription status on our behalf. RevenueCat acts as a data processor and does not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.

RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

PostHog

Title uses PostHog for product analytics and error tracking. PostHog processes anonymized event data on our behalf as a data processor, on infrastructure located in the United States. We do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. If you are in the European Economic Area, this means your anonymized analytics events are transferred to and processed in the United States.

PostHog's privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy

Apple Push Notification Service (APNs)

Title uses APNs to deliver daily puzzle reminders to your device. APNs is operated by Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple App Store

Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store infrastructure. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your interface preferences and (if you signed in with Apple) your display name are stored locally on your device.

Your anonymous identifier, game results, streak data, and — only if you opt in — push notification token and Sign in with Apple identifiers are stored on servers operated by Reno Labs, LLC, hosted in the European Union. Communication between Title and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.

We do not store your name, email address, phone number, or any device identifier tied to your identity.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open Settings → Account → Delete My Account. This permanently removes your anonymous identifier, streak, game results, push notification token, and (if you signed in with Apple) your Apple subject identifier from our servers. If you had signed in with Apple, Title will also call Apple's revocation endpoint to invalidate the authorization at Apple's side, and your locally-stored display name is wiped from your device. Your active subscription is tied to your Apple ID and is not affected by account deletion; manage it from Settings → Manage Subscription or the App Store account settings.

Uninstalling the app without using the in-app Delete My Account flow removes the local copy of your anonymous identifier and locally-stored name, but does not remove the server-side records. If you have already uninstalled and cannot complete the in-app flow, email us — see Contact Us below — and we will delete the server-side records associated with the anonymous identifier (which we can help you locate from a receipt or device).

6. Your Rights

All Users

You can delete every trace of your activity from our servers at any time via Settings → Account → Delete My Account. Uninstalling the app removes the local copy of your anonymous identifier (and locally-stored name, if any) but does not by itself remove the associated server-side records — use the in-app deletion flow for that, or email us if you no longer have the app installed.

European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. Because we hold no personally identifying information, we may ask you to provide your anonymous identifier so we can locate and act on the associated records.

Legal basis for processing: Game progress data is processed based on the performance of our service to you (providing streaks and stats); subscription data is processed based on the performance of our contract with you (providing the subscription service you purchased); anonymized analytics is processed based on our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate product usage and fixing bugs.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Title does not sell your information. The information we collect is described in this policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Title is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
