How to propagate Panda Plant
Leaf cuttings
- Remove a healthy leaf with a clean pull or cut.
- Let it callus for 2-3 days.
- Lay it on dry, gritty mix in bright, indirect light.
- Mist lightly now and then until roots and a small plant form.
Stem cuttings
- Cut a stem tip and strip the lowest leaves.
- Let the cut end callus for a couple of days.
- Insert the bare stem into dry, gritty mix.
- Water sparingly once rooted.
Common Panda Plant problems & fixes
Shriveled, wrinkled leaves
Underwatering â give a thorough soak and let it drain fully, then wait until the soil is bone dry.
Mushy, translucent leaves or stems
Overwatering and rot. Cut back watering, repot into a gritty fast-draining mix, and remove any rotted roots.
Stretched, pale growth
Too little light (etiolation). Move to bright, direct light; behead and re-root the stretched top to reset a compact shape.
