How to propagate Parsley
Seed
- Soak seeds overnight to soften the coat and speed germination.
- Sow 1/4 inch deep in moist soil and keep warm.
- Be patient, germination is slow; keep the surface from drying out.
- Thin seedlings to 6-8 inches apart once established.
Common Parsley problems & fixes
Leggy, sparse stems
Not enough light or overdue for a trim. Give 6+ hours of sun and pinch the tips regularly to force bushier growth.
Wilting
Usually dry soil â herbs drink fast in sun. Water when the top inch dries and make sure the pot drains freely.
Bolting (flowering) and bitter leaves
Heat stress. Pinch off flower buds early to keep the leaves tender and extend the harvest.
