How to propagate Aloe Vera

Offsets (pups)

Difficulty: Very easyTimeline: Pups are ready when 1/5 the size of the parent; root in 2-4 weeks.
  1. Unpot and find the pups growing at the base with their own roots.
  2. Separate a pup with roots attached using a clean knife.
  3. Let the cut callus for 1-2 days, then pot in gritty mix.
  4. Wait a week before watering.

Common Aloe Vera problems & fixes

Overwatering and rot. Let soil dry fully and cut away mushy parts.

Thin, curling leaves

Underwatering or too little light. Water deeply and give brighter light.

Brown/red leaves
