How to propagate Alocasia Frydek
Division (corms / offsets)
- Unpot and gently wash soil off the roots to expose the small round corms.
- Detach the firm corms and any rooted offsets from the mother plant.
- Set corms on moist sphagnum or perlite, pointed side up, half-exposed.
- Keep warm (70-80F) and humid under cover until roots and a leaf form.
- Pot up once the offset has roots and one or two leaves.
Common Alocasia Frydek problems & fixes
Yellow leaves
Usually overwatering. Let the soil dry more between waterings and confirm the pot drains well.
Brown, crispy leaf tips
Low humidity or salt buildup. Raise humidity and flush the soil with plain water occasionally.
Leggy growth / small new leaves
Too little light. Move to brighter indirect light and prune to encourage fuller growth.
