Decade is a daily year-guessing puzzle game developed by Reno Labs, LLC. Each day, players see one or more archival photos and try to guess the year each was taken. This Privacy Policy explains what information Decade collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
Decade does not require a user account, and there is no sign-up or login. We never ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other personal contact information. The only information you provide directly is the year guesses you submit while playing.
Decade generates a random UUID and stores it in iOS Keychain, with a local fallback. Keychain synchronization can preserve it across supported devices and reinstalls. It is not your Apple ID or advertising identifier. It links your game results, streaks, analytics and notification preferences over time. These records are pseudonymous, not fully anonymized. We disclose data associated with these persistent identifiers as linked data in App Store privacy information.
When you finish a daily puzzle, Decade sends the outcome (won or lost, your score, the number of guesses, elapsed time, and the guesses themselves) to our servers. This data is keyed only to your anonymous identifier and is used to compute your daily streak and your personal lifetime stats (games played, win rate, and your score distribution). Decade Pro subscribers also get a personal "Your Style" breakdown computed from this same history — for example, which eras you guess most accurately and how your scores vary by day of week. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not share your individual results with other players.
If you turn on the daily reminder and grant notification permission, Apple's Push Notification service (APNs) issues a push token for your device, which we store on our servers so we can send your once-a-day "new frame" reminder. The token is associated only with your anonymous identifier. If you revoke notification permission, the token becomes invalid and the next reminder fails silently. You can decline notifications entirely and Decade still works fully — you just won't get the daily nudge.
RevenueCat processes transaction receipts, product identifiers and purchase status for Decade Pro subscriptions and one-time collection purchases. It associates purchase history and access rights with a persistent RevenueCat customer identifier. Active Decade Pro or a valid direct collection purchase can provide collection access. A direct purchase does not expire with Pro, but refunds or revocations can remove that purchase's access. RevenueCat remains the purchase authority; our collection server does not receive your RevenueCat customer identifier to deliver collection files.
Decade sends PostHog product-interaction events, including puzzle, share and paywall activity, linked to the app's persistent UUID. Technical context includes app and operating-system versions and device model. PostHog also receives crash reports and handled-error diagnostics so we can find and fix bugs. These records are pseudonymous, not anonymized. We do not use them for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites. PostHog processes IP addresses in transit and may derive approximate location.
PostHog also creates its own persistent device identifier and sends it with the app identifier for analytics configuration. This is linked device data, not an advertising identifier.

Decade does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, location, or any other sensitive permissions. Decade does not offer Sign in with Apple and does not collect your name or email address.
Decade uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and one-time collection purchases. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and access status on our behalf.

Decade uses PostHog for product analytics and error tracking. PostHog processes events and diagnostics linked to a persistent app identifier on infrastructure in the United States. We do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. If you are in the European Economic Area, these records are transferred to and processed in the United States.

Decade uses APNs to deliver daily reminders to your device. APNs is operated by Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store infrastructure. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Your interface preferences are stored locally on your device.
Your anonymous identifier, game results, streak data, and — only if you enable reminders — your push notification token are stored on servers operated by Reno Labs, LLC, hosted in the European Union. Communication between Decade and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
We do not store your name, email address or phone number on our servers. We do store the persistent app identifier and records described above.
You can delete your data at any time from inside the app: open Settings → Account → Delete My Account. This permanently removes your anonymous identifier, streak, game results, and push notification token from our servers, and wipes the local copy of your identifier from your device. Your active subscription is tied to your Apple ID and is not affected; manage it from Settings → Manage Subscription or the App Store account settings.
Uninstalling the app does not delete server-side records and may leave its Keychain identifier intact. Use the in-app deletion flow or contact support if you no longer have the app. Deleting app data does not cancel subscriptions, refund purchases or remove valid purchased collection rights. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction records; contact us for requests involving analytics or other processor-held records.
Use Settings → Account → Delete My Account to remove the app's account and gameplay records from our servers. Uninstalling alone does not delete those records. Contact support for access or deletion requests, including records held by our processors.

Legal basis for processing: We process game progress and purchase records to provide the service and access you request. We process pseudonymous analytics and diagnostics based on our legitimate interest in understanding product usage and fixing bugs.

Decade does not sell your information. The information we collect is described in this policy.
Decade is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
